Rachel Hyman-Rouse
Rachel’s upstate story sounds like a familiar tale. She bought her second home in Germantown as a weekender from NYC and became a full-time resident within a year. In reality, Rachel is a Dutchess County native, whose youthful ambitions led to over a decade on Wall Street as an analyst & hedge fund investor. After several summer rentals in the Hamptons and spending a considerable amount of time on the West Coast, Rachel ultimately settled in the Hudson Valley and stumbled into real estate as a second career.
In 2014 she approached a leading regional broker about opening an office in Rhinebeck, and by 2021 had built it into a $100MM+ residential sales operation, over $50MM of which were her own. Rachel has completed the sales of many of the most iconic properties in the region- including the Astor Tea House and Oak Terrace, childhood home of Eleanor Roosevelt- and was the listing agent for every sale in the Village of Rhinebeck over $2.5MM.
When her firm sold to a national franchise, Rachel struck out on her own to found Rouse + Co, a boutique brokerage built around curated, aesthetic marketing combined with deep local expertise. In just three years, she’s grown the company to two offices — Rhinebeck and Hudson — and a team of 18 agents, closing over $110MM in sales in 2025 alone.
Rachel can often be found dashing around the village (teenage daughter and black poodle in tow) or dining out at one of Rhinebeck’s many excellent restaurants.
